Lactose, which is milk sugar, is one of the three types of disaccharides that must be broken down by lactase.*
Lactase helps the absorption of calcium. Lactase deficiency results in “lactose intolerance” in all dairy products. If lactose is not broken down properly with the enzyme lactase, it may cause many discomforts in the small intestines.*
Lactase should be taken with Digestive, because the protease, lipase, and invertase enzymes in the Digestive are synergistic with Lactase. Protease will help break down the protein in milk, lipase will help break
down the fats in milk, and invertase helps break sucrose down into glucose and fructose.*
Adequate enzymes are also needed for full activation and absorption of vitamins and minerals in the cells and tissues of the body.
Lactase contains properly balanced plant enzymes to maximize the healthful effects of these nutrients within the body.*
